    Description

This item is a 1971 Hornblower & Weeks Tax Guide for Investors pamphlet along with a listing of common stock prices in September 1971.
This pairing gives a unique insight on how investors looked at the securities market in 1971 from a tax perspective. There is a detailing of the capital gains & losses provisions and the best method of getting your tax position in order for the end of 1971.
The pamphlet is full of helpful information including tables for the Value of Net Capital Losses and Schedule of 1971 Federal Income Tax Rates. In addition there is a 4 page listing of common stocks arranged within industry groups along with pricing as of September 13 1971.
It is really cool looking at blue chip stocks and what they were back then.
This information was provided by Hornblower & Weeks and was prepared by Data Digest who published the Monthly Stock Digest.
Both pieces are in good condition. The guide was stored folded to center page verses the front so there is some misalignment when folded as it was meant to be. I did not see any marks, tears or rips.

I try to use repurposed packaging. All shipments are sent with tracking information. Sorry - No international shipments.
Over the past couple of years, I have been tasked with going through my parent's and grandparent's possessions - two separate households with items spanning their whole lives. This has been a long, arduous process and will take many years to complete.
I will be listing a variety of items - some of which I know the story behind and others I simply haven’t a clue!
With each and every item, I try to supply as much detail as I can whether it is from my recollection / memories, internet research, or by matching it up with other pieces I have found. Each item tells a story for which I am grateful to now be able to document as a way of keeping some of the history of my family which is now gone. I wish I could keep a lot of it but I haven't the room.
I will do my absolute best to describe the item as I can. If I overlook a defect or if for some reason you feel that the item is not as described, please let me know. I will do my best to make things right! Thank you in advance for helping me with this overwhelming task.
