19th century Burmese Bronze Duck Opium weight authentic. Weights such as this were used in Burma until the late C 19th century. They existed in graduated sets usually depicting Ducks or sometimes mythical creature known as a Chinthe. Although now commonly called "Opium Weights" they were actually used for weighing everyday items as well as more precious items. Excellent used condition size is 2 1/2" tall.
