    Description

    This is an original Antique Metal Lime Pot / Tube / Container from Southeast Asia used in the chewing of betel nut.  The most likely origin of this item is either Cambodia or Thailand.  This old piece conservatively dates from the late 18th Century to the end of the 19th Century.  Please note the lime residue is still present in the inside of the item.  The lid of the container also fits very well.

    his lime pot / tube / container was purchased in Bangkok's well known antique district bordered by Silom / Surawong Road in the early 1970's by my father & myself.  The purchase was made during one of his quarterly buying trips for his Antique Shop in Penang, Malaysia.
