Description
The McDonnell Douglas DC-10 is a three engine, wide body airliner. The DC-10-10 model was a "domestic" design with a typical range of about 3800 miles. The DC-10-30 model was developed as an "international" version with additional range up to 6220 miles. A third main landing gear leg was added to support the additional take-off weight. The DC-10-30 was the most common model produced. It was built with General Electric CF6-50 turbofan engines and larger fuel tanks to increase range and fuel efficiency. A total of 163 were built from 1972 to 1988. The DC-10 was also used by the U.S. Air Force as an air-to-air refueling tanker version and was designated as the KC-10.This Northwest Airlines aircraft with the registration N143US had its first flight on 24 July, 1972. It was first delivered to Northwest Airlines Airlines on November 10, 1972. It was then sold to Dominicana Airlines in June of 1984, then Air Panama in October of 1984. It then came back to Northwest in May of 1986 where it flew until it was scrapped (how sad). It has the Northwest colors of the 1970's-1980's.
This 1:400 scale diecast reproduction of the Northwest McDonnell Douglas DC-10-40 is an extremely rare, out of production, and one of a kind model that comes with a display stand. The model has an upper and lower fuselage chrome finish All sales are final. Shipping is to the continental USA only.
