Here is an exceptional smoking pipe from the Karen people of Northern Thailand
Red clay earthenware bowl with original long wooden stem, covered all over in thick hand tooled silver
Decorated
throughout, floral motifs separated by bands on the silver stem
All handcrafted in a traditional manner
Very rare to find complete, as usually only the clay pipe bowls are retained
Antique, 19th century
Karen tribes (Kayin, Kariang or Yang), Northern Thailand
