    Description

The Douglas DC-8 is a narrow body airliner built by the American Douglas Aircraft Company. In July of 1955, Douglas announced the DC-8 project. The first DC-8 rolled out of the Long Beach Airport in California on 09 April, 1958 and flew for the first time in May of that year. On 09 September, 1959, the DC-8 entered service with Delta Airlines.
Northwest Airlines was a major United States airline founded in 1926. The airline flew as Northwest until 2010, when it was merged with Delta Airlines. Northwest was headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota, which is close to the Minneapolis / St. Paul International Airport. Northwest first entered the jet age on 08 July, 1960 with the Douglas DC-8.
This Northwest Airlines Douglas DC-8 (N804US), was delivered to Northwest on 22 September, 1960. It flew with Northwest until October of 1963 when it was sold to National Airlines. This aircraft went through three more carriers eventually ending up with Overseas National Airways in December of 1975 where it flew until it was retired and scrapped (how very sad).
This Gemini 1:400 scale Northwest Airlines Douglas DC-8 is a detailed and difficult to find model. It has the original Northwest 1960's color scheme. All sales are final. Shipping to the USA only.
NOTE: This model does NOT have the original box and does NOT have the original display stand. It has been displayed in a dust tight case since new. The model will be carefully packaged for shipment.
