Our precision industrial grade 5000 amp CTs have the easy to work with split core design.
These CTs are extremely accurate and will meter heavy loads to a high degree of precision. They have 187,968 internal turns, creating a 26.6 mA output at full amperage(5000A). They are also exceedingly precise at 0.1% accurate which makes them ideal for revenue-grade applications. Use these CTs for any system from under 1 amp to 5000 amps.
These CTs are +/- 0.1% accurate, they have enhanced phase angle measuring abilities.
These current transformers have a 26.6 milliamp output at their full rated 5000 amps.
Use 1 CT for 120 volt single phase North American, or 230 volt 2-wire foreign systems
Use 2 CTs for 120/240 volt single phase systems
Use 2 CTs for 3-phase 3-wire systems (no neutral)
Use 3 CTs for 3-phase 4-wire systems
Split core CTs, like this one, can be opened for installation, which prevents the need to disconnect the wire being read. This results in labor savings especially when dealing with large amperage cables.
Hardware is included for installing the CT on a bus bar or large gauge wire.
These CTs come with 6 foot long wire leads. If the leads are extended you should expect accuracy loss.
Caution: Please do not run current through the primary wire that your CTs are connected to, without a meter connected to your CTs. If you must disconnect the meter from the CTs, you should short the CT White wire to the CT Black wire until you are able to reinstall your meter. If there is a lot of current running in the primary wire, there could be a shock hazard between the CT lead wires.
The quarter in the images is for scale.
