This remote can be used with most  brands of water meter with industry standard "encoder output" registers using industry standard UI-1203 protocol or Neptune or Sensus protocols. Compatible encoders include Sensus ICE and ECR, Neptune Pro-Read, Badger ADE and HRE, Master Meter Acculinx, Hersey/Mueller translator, Zenner ETR, and others. Just connect a three wire cable
(available separately)
between this remote and your register. Tap on the gold target, and they remote will read the actual value on the register and the encoder register serial number. Note that some encoders do not output in individual gallons or cubic feet, but in 10's hundreds, or thousands. The reading displayed will depend on the resolution of your encoder. which is often on sticker on the register or register lid.
